About Color Rush

Color Rush combines two decisions that many runners keep separate. You must time a jump to reach the next platform and make sure the character’s color matches that surface on arrival. A well-judged distance is not enough if the landing color is wrong, while a correct color cannot rescue a missed platform.

The character moves forward automatically, leaving jump duration and color switching as your main responsibilities. Levels also offer additional objectives, giving you reasons to revisit a course after a clean completion. Build the basic sequence first: identify the receiving platform, judge the jump, set the required color, and then prepare for the next landing.

How to Play Color Rush

Press Up Arrow to jump, hold it longer for an extended jump, and press Space to change color. Land on platforms that match the runner’s current color and reach the end of the level without a mismatch or missed landing.

  1. Read the next platform’s position and color while approaching it.
  2. Use Up Arrow to begin the jump, adjusting the hold for the gap.
  3. Use Space when a color change is needed before landing.
  4. Repeat the jump-and-match sequence through the level, then revisit its additional objectives.

Controls & Timing

A landing has two requirements

The runner must reach the platform and match its color. Check those requirements separately before the jump, then combine the actions during the approach. Success at one does not compensate for a mistake in the other.

Hold duration shapes the jump

A longer hold on Up Arrow extends the crossing. Match that duration to the platform you intend to reach instead of applying the same jump to every gap. The receiving surface remains the target throughout the movement.

Color switching belongs before contact

Space changes the character’s color, and the match needs to be correct at landing. Read the next surface early so the switch becomes part of the planned sequence. Delaying it until contact leaves no useful margin.

High Score Tips

  1. Name the next landing before acting. Mentally pair its distance with its color. This reduces the chance of solving only the jump while forgetting the second condition that determines whether the landing succeeds.
  2. Keep the two controls distinct. Treat Up Arrow as the movement decision and Space as the matching decision. Separating their purposes helps you diagnose whether a failed section needs different timing or a different color state.
  3. Do not switch simply because a new platform appears. Check whether the current color already matches it. An unnecessary Space press can turn a correct setup into a mismatch just before an otherwise successful landing.
  4. Add objectives after a clean finish. First learn the jump-and-color sequence that completes the level. Then pursue additional goals with that route as a reference, so you can see which detour or extra action caused a failure.

Key Features

  • Color-matched landings. The runner and receiving platform must have the same color.
  • Variable jump duration. Holding Up Arrow longer changes the reach of the jump.
  • Separate color control. Space handles matching while the jump key handles movement.
  • Additional level objectives. Courses offer reasons to return after completing the basic route.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which key changes color?

Space changes the runner’s color. Up Arrow is reserved for jumping, so keep the two purposes separate and arrange the correct color before the character meets the next platform.

Why do I fail even after reaching the platform?

The runner’s color must match the landing surface. Reaching the right position solves only the movement part of the challenge; a mismatch can still end the attempt.

How do I jump farther?

Hold Up Arrow longer to extend the jump. Judge the receiving platform before choosing the duration, because a longer movement is useful only when it fits the landing you need.

Should I change color on every jump?

Only when the next platform requires a different color from the runner’s current state. Read the surface before pressing Space so an unnecessary switch does not spoil a correct setup.

When should I attempt the extra objectives?

After you can complete the basic route reliably. A known jump-and-match sequence gives you a reference for judging whether an additional objective requires a manageable change or an overly risky detour.
